Azerbaijan's First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva has been awarded the "Service to the Turkish world" prize of the Foundation of Turkish World Writers and Artists (TURKSAV).
"It is the 15th Service to the Turkish world prize,: TURKSAV chairman Yahya Akengin said.
This prize is given to individuals and organizations making a significant contribution to the development of the Turkic world. According to TURKSAV's decision, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Alyeva has been honored with the award.
Azerbaijan's First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva was awarded for the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's humanitarian programs for refugees and IDPs from the Armenia-occupied lands, as well as for her contribution to preserving and promoting tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Azerbaijani Turks, who are the part of the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic world.
The award was given to Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic, because the First Lady was away on foreign trip. In his speech, the diplomat expressed his satisfaction with the TURKSAV board's decision. It is a great honor to deliver such a high premium directly to Mehriban Aliyeva, he added.
Kilic appreciated Azerbaijani-Turkish friendly and strategic relations. Speaking about the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Turkish ambassador underlined that Turkey would not open its borders with Armenia until Nagorno Karabakh conflict is solved.
