The Azerbaijani government has requested the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for technical assistance for estimation of common calculation methodology of the consumer price index (CPI), Basil Zavoico, the head of the Baku Office of the IMF told Trend.
The last mission of IMF considered a narrow circle of issues, while a large mission is expected to for estimation of the methodology. The IMF experts are expected to visit Azerbaijan in 6 months.
Exact date of the gathering is still to be defined, as IMFs fiscal year started last week and the budget is still to be defined. The IMF is still to get defined with the amount of assistance to the IMF member-states, Zavoico concluded.
