Germany Granted About €300m. to Azerbaijan Up to Now

About в'¬300 m. have been granted to Azerbaijan by Germany within different programs up to date, Peer Stankina, German Ambassador to Azerbaijan told during the today`s reception on occasion of the German National Holiday the Day of Unification, Trend reports.

According to him, since the moment Azerbaijan obtained independence, Germany has rendered it economic and political support to it. At present, the cooperation successfully developed 0 the commodity turnover between the two countries over the first half of 2006 increased by 75 percent against the corresponding period of the last year.

Germany spends only в'¬500.000 to Azerbaijani students to obtain education in Germany. The German Ambassador also expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the negotiations on the EU Neighbourhood Policy between Azerbaijan and EU successfully ended. According to him, that demonstrates that democracy, free economy, and human rights has developed in this country.

Ziyafat Asgarov, the first Vice-Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament told that relations between Germany and Azerbaijan developing very well, and that sincere relations have been established between the two states. He also added that he hopes that these relations will develop in the future even more intensively than nowadays.
