Russian Government does not Intend Expelling Azerbaijanis from the Country State Committee Head

The intension of the Government of the Russian Federation to limit the market activities of the migrants does not mean that they want to expel the Azerbaijanis from the country. The decision of the Russian Government does not concern only Azerbaijanis. It concerns the representatives of other nations, the Chairman of the State Committee for the Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad, Nazim Ibrahimov, said at a press-conference on November 24, Trendreports.

He said that most of Azerbaijanis residing in Russia without registration are the citizens of Georgia. The decision that will be made against the Azerbaijani citizens will be softer, and it will not concern the citizens of Georgia. As a result of the implementation of the decisions of the Russian Government, the Georgian Azerbaijanis will face difficulties. Ibrahimov said, that the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev issued a decree On solution of the problems of the Azerbaijani citizens involved in the trade in the territory of Russian Federation and a special commission has been created. He added that the delegation of the State Committee will leave for Russia in three days to discuss the problems of the Azerbaijanis residing in the territory of Russia. According to Ibrahimov, 2,5 mln Azerbaijanis are living in Russia and 700,000 out of them have the registration.

Ibrahimov said that the Azerbaijanis residing in Russia should enter into registration, and if they are still the citizens of Azerbaijan, they need to obtain Russian citizenship. During the meeting with the Russian representatives I was assured that the Russian Government does not want to expel the Azerbaijanis from the country, he said.
