Azerbaijan and Poland Eager to Cooperate in Fighting against Illegal Migration, Terrorism, and Organized Crime (video)

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / The Interior Ministries of Azerbaijan and Poland are prepared to join in cooperation in fighting against terror and organized crime. The relevant discussions were held at a meeting between Azerbaijani Interior Minister Rami Usubov with his Polish counterpart Yanush Kachmarek.

Usubov spoke about the functions and directions of interior bodies of Azerbaijan, work done under the leaders of the late former President Heydar Aliyev in all sectors, including the interior bodies, legal and democratic reforms, measures taken in this field and achievements. Usubov noted the importance of international cooperation in fighting against the illegal drug trade and terrorism.

Advising about the functions and directions of Polish Interior Ministry Kachmarek noted the importance of bilateral meetings in combating transnational crime.

He informed about the development of an intergovernmental agreement between Azerbaijan and Poland in fighting against illegal migration, terrorism, and organized crime. Following the signing of the agreement, a document on cooperation between the Interior Ministries of the two countries was also to be signed.

Kachmarek's visit to Azerbaijan began on 1 June. On the same day the Polish delegation met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. On 2 June the Polish delegation will meet with the head of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, Elchin Guliyev.
