Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / The State Committee for Struggle against Drug Addiction and Illegal Drug Trafficking informed that over the first five months of 2007, 300 kg of various kinds of narcotics have been taken out of circulation.
A total of 190 kg of hashish, nearly 68kg of opium, 50kg of marihuana, as well as 24 kg of heroin were withdrawn in this period.
Over the reported period, 1205 drug-related crimes have been registered in Azerbaijan, including 739 related to drug possession, 422 for trafficking and 33 for cultivating narcotics.
