Rouz-Roth Seminar of NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly Likely to be Hold in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizadeh / MP Malahat Hasanova stated on 28 June that the first workshop of the Rouz-Roth of the NATO's Parliamentary Assembly is likely to be held in Azerbaijan in 2008.

Hasanova noted that the 66th workshop of the Rouz-Roth has been held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, since 23 to 27 June.

During the three-day seminars the issues concerning border and energy security in the Balkan Mountains, as well as joining of Albania, Croatia and Macedonia the NATO were discussed. The exchange of views regarding Kosovo's status was also held.

"The issue concerning energy security widely discussed at the event. We noted that Azerbaijan plays an important role in providing Europe and world's energy security. It was decided to hold a Rouz-Roth workshop in Azerbaijan in 2008," Hasanova added.

According to Hasanova, the NATO and the Parliamentary Assembly of the organization positively assessed decision to hold seminar in Azerbaijan.

"The NATO's leadership is interested in holding seminar in Azerbaijan. The exact date for seminar will be announced after discussions the issue with Azerbaijan," MP said.

The 67th seminar of the Rouz-Roth will be held in Belgrade, Serbia, in October.

MPs Siyavush Novruzov and Malahat Hasanova represented Azerbaijan at the seminar held in Croatia.
