Azerbaijan President to Attend Opening of a Park in Bucharest

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Agayeva / The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, will make a visit to Bucharest to participate in the opening ceremony of an Azerbaijani park in the capital of Romania, the Advisor of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Romania, Tural Rzayev, reported by telephone on 2 August.

According to Rzayev, during his participation in GUAM's Baku Summit in June, the President of Romania, Trayan Basesku, invited the President of Azerbaijan to attend the opening of the park in which the bust of Azerbaijan's nationwide leader, Heydar Aliyev, has been installed.

"Over the past twenty years of overthrowing the Socialist regime in Romania, generally three monuments have been erected, in honor of Sharlu de Gul, Mustafa Kamal Ataturk, and now Heydar Aliyev," the diplomat said. The decision to erect Heydar Aliyev's bust was made by Basesku three years ago in his term as Mayor of Bucharest.

According to Rzayev, the date for the park's opening as well as the details of the President's visit, have not yet been confirmed yet. Everything depends on the working schedule of the State Heads.

The project on reconstruction of the park has been devised by the Azerbaijani architect Eldar Huseynov. Azerbaijani national ornaments have been used in constructing the park.
