The Deputy Director of TREND News agency, Aygun Ismayilova, received the certificate of the Council of Europe (CE). The certificates undersigned by the CE Secretary General, Terry Davis, were given to the first graduates of Baku School of Political Studies.
The School was established at the end of 2006 at the CE. Thirty-five young people from different fields of social life became the students of the school. Responsible employees of state bodies, representatives of private sector, civil society, local government, as well as journalists, were among them.
A range of seminars dedicated to European values, mutual relationships between Azerbaijan and European organizations, development of political culture and civil society in Azerbaijan, and other socially important issues was held for the students at Guba Olympic Centre.
The lectures were delivered by the members of Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, Azerbaijani ombudswoman, representatives of Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry, well-known public figures, heads of diplomatic missions of several European countries in Azerbaijan and local offices of international organizations.
At the end of the study course the students of the School together with students from the same schools in Central and East Europe participated in the Second Summer University of Democracy held at the beginning of July in Strasbourg.
