Azerbaijan, Baku, 31 March / Trend corr Z. Safarov/ The German specialist Berti Fogts has denied reports that in near future he may become the head coach of the Azerbaijani national football team.
"Actually negotiations are underway, but they are still far from over. In the near future the next meeting is expected to take place in Germany. We still have many unsolved issues," the official website of the German national league quoted Fogts. This could be settled on 3 April, when the Secretary-General of AFFA Elkhan Mammadov arrives in Munich to solve all contract-related issues regarding Fogts.
On 30 March, the AFFA Executive Committee unanimously agreed to appoint Fogst as head of the national football team on the threshold of the selection tournament for the World Championship-2010.
