Dignitaries gather in Vienna for Euro 2008 final

Dignitaries from throughout Europe are gathering in Vienna ahead of Sunday's Euro 2008 final between Germany and Spain, the dpa reported.

King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia of Spain as well as German Chancellor Angela Merkel will be among the guests for the match at the Ernst Happel stadium while Hollywood star Harrison Ford will also be making an appearance.

Football's top brass will be well represented in the form of FIFA president Joseph Blatter, UEFA boss Michel Platini, German football legend Franz Beckenbauer and new Bayern Munich coach Juergen Klinsmann.

Austrian President, Heinz Fischer, and the country's Chancellor, Alfred Gusenbauer, Prince Albert of Monaco, and Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa will also be present in the VIP stands.

Spanish opera star Placido Domingo will sing at the Euro 2008 closing ceremony, which takes place prior to the match.
