Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 Dec/ Trend corr E. Huseinli/ Balakan, Zagatala, Gakh, Shaki, Oguz and Gabala regions located in north-west of Azerbaijan saw first snowfall at night of 11 Dec.
The temperature will fall by 4 to 5 degrees within next few days and it will sleet in mountainous regions, according to National Hydrometrology Department of Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
The snowfall began at 02:00 early morning of 11 Dec, Hydrometrology Department of Shaki region said.
Gakh and Shaki account for larger part of a snowfall. The height of snowfall is 15cm in Ilisu and 14cm in Kish village. The height of snowfall makes up 4-5cm though it has been raining since night. The snowfall has not caused traffic problems.
Hydrometrology Department of Shaki said the snowfall will last until 13 Dec. It is noticeable that first snowfall in this region took place on 2 Dec in 2007.
