Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 5 / Trend , V.Mammadova/

The Baku City Educational Department said the government cannot interfere with tutors.

"It is impossible to interfere with tutors at a governmental level," Baku City Educational Department official Zamina Aligizi told Trend on Feb. 5.

A total of 326 state schools operate in Baku. Most pupils have outside tutors. Parents explain the need for the extra assistance by the low level of education at comprehensive schools.

Private schools have a higher level of education and their students do not need additional help with their lessons, the parents said.

Aligizi said the department regularly checks tutors and student attendance at schools.

"We do not have such situations at private schools because state schools allocate too little time to lessons. Students return home at 12:00, while private schools students get back at 18:00 with their homework already done. This is the main difference between state and private schools," Aligizi said.
