The court passed a sentence on the persons accused of drug trafficking to Azerbaijan.
The Serious Crimes Court sentenced the Iranian residents, Teymuri Mohammad and Nasiri Pasgar kagasi to 11 years in imprisonment and the Azerbaijani citizen, Elkhan Ahmedov, to one year.
The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry's Drug Enforcement Department arrested the accused in the Nasimi district of Baku, on Feb. 5, 2009.
The Iranian citizens are accused in accordance with Article 206.2 (smuggling) and 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) and Karimov was accused of Article 234.4.1 (illegal acquisition, maintenance, transportation, dispatch and sale of drugs) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
