World Congress of Azerbaijani Youth joins 'Justice for Khojaly' campaign

Secretary General of the Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Elshad Isgandarov, who took part in the recent First World Congress of Azerbaijani Youth in Frankfurt, emphasized the need to actively participate in the international "Justice for Khojaly" campaign initiated by OIC Youth Forum on Intercultural Dialogue Coordinator Leyla Aliyeva.

The campaign aims to achieve the moral and political recognition of the crimes against humanity committed by the Armenian armed forces in the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly.

Isgandarov spoke at the event's opening ceremony. He urged Azerbaijani youth in the diaspora and Azerbaijani students studying in foreign universities to be active in the pursuit of national interests and to participate in events to reveal the truth about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

A panel organized under the title "Youth Role in Developing Intercultural Dialogue," which was held under Isgandarov's chairmanship, provided detailed work about the campaign's activities since 2008 together with Campaign Coordinator Nijat Mammadli.

Participants were also informed about the role of the OIC in the U.N. Alliance of Civilizations, and the prospects of the AoC Global Youth Movement, which is planned to be established in Baku in 2011 with the participation of young leaders from around the world. The congress expressed its support for the campaign and urged world youth to actively join its implementation.
