Expert: Azerbaijani business owners in Moscow will not face difficulties during reforms

Azerbaijani business owners in Moscow will not face difficulties during new Mayor Sergei Sobyanin's reforms, Merchants and Manufacturers Union Chairman Sevgim Rahmanov told Trend.

"The majority of Azerbaijanis working in Moscow are involved in small business," he said. "Their business is more flexible to any kind of cataclysm."

Sobyanin was appointed mayor after Yuri Luzhkov's dismissal on Oct. 21. After his appointment, Sobyanin said he intends to reform take care of unofficial bazaars in the capital and illegal importers.

According to the mayor, there are about 80 unofficial bazaars Moscow, which are in no way regulated.

"These streams do not pay any taxes and make civilized trade less competitive," Sobyanin said earlier. He voiced his willingness to deal with the problem and said he is ready to immediately solve the situation with unfair trade competition.

Deputy Executive Director of the All-Russian Congress of Azerbaijanis Ilgar Hajiyev told Trend over the telephone that Azerbaijanis will not face any problems after the change of power. He added that since the appointment of the new mayor, the All-Russian Congress of Azerbaijanis has not received any complaints or appeals.
