Georgian rescue teams found the body of 27-year old climber Karlo Khergiani, who went missing in the Svaneti Mountains, after a four-day search. 120 rescue workers continued the search for Khergiani this morning and managed to find his corpse, the Mestia Municipality told Trend.
Khergiani was hit by an avalanche during the ascent to the Tetnuldi peak in the Svaneti Mountains (Western Georgia).
Four days ago, a snow-slip engulfed the climbers in a mountain valley. One of the climbers managed to reach a nearby village and ask for help. Rescuers of the Georgian Interior Ministry and military groups of the Sachkhere Mountain Rifle Battalion also joined the search with a helicopter. A group of local climbers from Khergiani's home village Mulakhi also took part in the search.
