Seven peoples engaged in illegal hunting have been arrested in Azerbaijan, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources said on Saturday.
During the raids conducted by the ministry relevant bodies, one man was detained, who was hunting in the territory of the Aggol National Park, and a hunting rifle was seized from him.
Tofig Hajiyev, engaged in illegal hunting, was arrested and fined for 1,000 manat during raids in Jalilabad. A hunting rifle and seven cartridges were seized from him. Vusal Khalafov, Rashad Shahbazzade, Javanshir Khalafov, Tarlan Babayev and Gunduz Khamzayev, who were engaged in illegal hunting on the lakes, were detained in the Ismayilli region and fined in the amount of 1,000 manat. Five hunting rifles were seized from him.
As a result of raids conducted in the Narajan village in the Khachmaz region, nooses and other man-made snares for catching birds were found. All these snares were destroyed, and nooses were set on fire.
During raids in the Kurdamir city the fact of game sale was revealed in a cafe near the railway station, based on which an act was drawn up. The seized two ducks and three coots were burned.
