Iran assigns $250 million to resolve drought issue

Iran's Agriculture Ministry has assigned $250 million to implement a project to fight the drought across the country, Mehr News Agency reported quoting Agriculture Minister Sadeq Khalilian as saying.

"The projects to fight drought include water transfer, development of water and dam network, the interior ministry will also assign financial aid to provinces to solve the drought," he said.

The expansion of the drought through the central parts of Iran increased by 76 percent creating serious danger for the central regions
