BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 30. The Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan has delivered flu vaccinations to the necessary points in order to prevent the transmission of various diseases to citizens who may come into contact with the guests of the COP29 event, Deputy Health Minister Nadir Zeynalov said during a press conference dedicated to the COP29 event, Trend reports.
He pointed out that the aim of vaccinations is to shield citizens in case the newcomers bring along influenza and respiratory bugs.
Additionally, the deputy minister noted that in anticipation of potential emergencies, considering around 10,000 guests will be arriving in the city, both treatment and preventive measures have been implemented.
"Among the arrivals, there may be carriers of epidemic diseases. To address this, thermometers will be installed at the international airport to monitor temperatures at the initial stage. We have also provided necessary diagnostic tests for more detailed examinations. In case of any suspicions, individuals will be isolated and promptly treated.
Currently, flu vaccinations are also being administered at clinics, which will help prevent complications and the spread of flu-related illnesses among citizens attending the COP29 event.
Moreover, disinfection measures will be carried out in hotels and dining establishments to prevent the spread of epidemic diseases," he added.
