Azerbaijan takes positive steps in the direction of protection of human rights and successfully cooperates with the international organizations in this field, stated an international expert of the Wallanberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law of Sweden, Bill Chapman, in a meeting with Elmira Suleymanova, the Azerbaijani Ombudsman, the Institute of Azerbaijani Ombudsman told Trend.
He voiced the Institutes strong will for continuing the efficient cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani Ombudsman informed the expert of the ongoing democratic processes in the country, legal reforms, work in the sphere of ensuring the human rights and freedom. Suleymanova voiced Azerbaijans will on setting up a joint project with the Institute. The first phase of the project is complete and now the preparations for work the second stage are underway.
