The Azerbaijani Association of Persimmon Producers and Exporters is interested in the export of persimmons to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, chairman of the association Gadir Yusifov told Trend.
Yusifov added that there are plans to export the products to more countries.
“The Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) under the Ministry of Economy can contribute to the conclusion of contracts and the process of organizing a meeting between representatives of the new markets and exporters,” the chairman of the association said.
Yusifov said that the crops harvested this year are put in refrigerated warehouses and are exported to Russia, Ukraine and in small volumes to Turkey, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
“In general, the harvest is abundant this year, but due to the hot summer and global warming, the production of fruits, vegetables that are not included in the drip irrigation system did not meet the standards,” Yusifov said.
“The work for 2022 is underway,” the chairman of the association said. “Pruning is underway in the gardens. Pesticides are used to combat pests and fertilizers are used for trees.”
