BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 5. Liquid assets of Azerbaijan's banking sector amounted to 13.1 billion manat ($7.6 billion) as of January 1 this year, which made 26.7 percent of the sector's assets, the report of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan says, Trend reports.
The report notes that the sector's instant liquidity ratio amounted to 52 percent, exceeding the minimum requirement (30 percent) 1.7 times.
Approximately, 48 percent of liquid assets ($3.7 billion) were in foreign currency.
According to the CBA, the volume of assets of the country's banking sector as of December 31, 2023, amounted to 49.1 billion manat ($28.8 billion), which in turn is 4.5 percent higher than in the same period last year (47.05 billion manat ($27.6 billion)).
