ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, November 11. The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Türkiye from January through August 2024 reached $1.5 billion, Turkish Ambassador Ahmet Demirok said, Trend reports via the official Turkmen media.
"The momentum achieved in our relations with Turkmenistan is reflected in our trade and economic cooperation. The volume of bilateral trade reached grew by 16 percent in the first eight months of this year compared to the same period in 2023," the ambassador pointed out.
Demirok also expressed optimism about the near future achievement of the shared goal of raising trade turnover to $5 billion.
To note, the total trade volume between the countries in 2023 was $2.6 billion.
Furthermore, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimukhamedov sent congratulations to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the people of Türkiye on the occasion of Republic Day, celebrated on October 29. In his message, President Berdimukhamedov emphasized that strengthening multilateral relations with Türkiye is a priority of Turkmenistan's foreign policy. He highlighted the rich experience of Turkmen-Turkish relations and expressed readiness to develop bilateral cooperation based on trust.
