BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. The COP29 Business, Investment and Charity Climate Platform was held within the framework of COP29, under the chairmanship of COP29, the UN high-level leader on climate COP29, with the organization of the Ministry of Economy and the Agency for the Promotion of Export and Investments - AZPROMO. The event was organized in partnership with relevant international structures, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.

The Business, Investment and Philanthropy Climate Platform hosted discussions on effective financial solutions and business strategies to combat climate change.

The event was attended by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev and Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli. The important role of Azerbaijan in the process of promoting strategic global initiatives to strengthen climate resilience and economic growth was noted. The discussion also focused on green energy projects that serve to decarbonize the country's economy and redirect hydrocarbon revenues to combat climate change by strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors, the private sector and philanthropic organizations.

The event provided an opportunity for partners to exchange views on climate finance and investment strategies in developing countries to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement on climate change. The focus was also on mobilizing capital for climate-resilient solutions and key mechanisms to accelerate the decarbonization of industries.

The event included 9 sessions. The sessions covered topics such as innovative financial solutions, decarbonization, advancing financial flows to developing countries, commitments by international companies to sustainable development, strengthening public-private cooperation, partnerships that accelerate integrated climate action, and progress on new partnerships that support the Sustainable Development Goals.

The event was attended by more than 1,000 registered participants from 71 countries.
