The Vice President of the World Bank (WB) for Europe and Central Asia, Philippe Le Wairua, will make a visit to Baku in mid September for the first time, WB Baku Office said on August 30.
Le Wairua will stay in Baku from 12 to 15 September, and is supposed to hold several meetings at the state structures September 13-14. This is Le Wairua's first visit to Azerbaijan, and during the visit, there are plans to get familiarized with the current situation in the country and possibly discuss a new cooperation strategy for Azerbaijan, (2011-14).
The World Bank has been cooperating with the Azerbaijani government since 1992, when Azerbaijan joined the World Bank. The Bank has financed 52 projects worth $2.7 billion.
