In January-November 2010, the industrial production [produced industrial goods and rendered services] in Azerbaijan totaled 25.3 billion manat, which is 3.1 percent more than in 2009, the State Statistics Committee said Thursday.
During the reported period, the volume of production of the extractive industry grew by 1.9 percent, amounting to 19.226 billion manat with special weight of 76.1 percent of total industrial production. The share of processing industry was 18.8 percent (with an increase of 8.8 percent), electricity, gas sector - 4.5 percent (with growth of 6.7 percent) and the water sector - 0.6 percent (a decrease of 1.2 percent).
The volume of oil produced by companies that are part of the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) for the period increased by 1.6 percent, reaching 47.1 million tons and natural gas - 15.5 billion cubic meters, with an increase of 4.5 percent.
Private sector's share in January-November increased by 1.9 percent, amounting to 81.6 percent of total industrial production. Some 93.2 percent accounted for the production of industrial goods, 6.8 percent - industrial services. Production in non-oil industrial sector grew by 5.9 percent, amounting to 4.6 billion manat.
The volume of production of processing industry amounted to 4 755.6 million manat. Over eleven months, a significant increase was observed in the production of motor vehicles, trailers and semitrailers (74.4 times), production of electrical equipment (83.2 percent), metallurgy (22.3 percent), chemical industry (11.2 percent) and production of alcoholic beverages (12.7 percent).
Food production increased by only 2.2 percent. The production of pasta products grew by 54.2 percent - to 18,300 tons, cheese and cottage cheese - 2 percent, amounting to 39,700 tons, meat - 3.9 percent (225.800 tons), milk - three percent (582,700 tons), butter - 0.9 percent (19,200 tons), liquid vegetable oils - 11.2 percent (37,400 tons).
