Uzbek National Airline "Uzbekiston HavoYullari" (Uzbekistan Airways) received a civil aircraft Boeing 767-300ER Extended Range on Wednesday, the company said.
This is the first of four Boeing 767-300ER aircrafts, which were ordered by the airline in 2008. Uzbekistan Airways also expects delivery of two aircrafts of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
As it was reported earlier, Uzbekistan implements a program on modernizing, upgrading and unification of the fleet of aircrafts to replace obsolete aircrafts, approved by the government.
It was reported that "Uzbekistan Airways" is going to buy 16 planes of western production worth $1.027 billion by 2017.
It was reported that in 2007-2008, Uzbekistan Airways signed contracts with Airbus Industry to acquire ten A-320-200 planes, as well as with Boeing to purchase four Boeing-767-300ER and two Boeing-787-800 Dreamliner. The purchase is financed at the own expense of the company (10 percent of the cost), loan from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan (50 percent) and loans from foreign banks (40 percent).
In accordance with the approved schedule, in 2012-2013 the company will receive - four Boeing-767-300ER with PW 4062 engines worth $347.6 million, in the third stage - in 2013-2014 - four A-320-200 with CFM-56 5B engines worth $190.9 million. In July and August 2016, the company will receive two Boeing-787-800 Dreamliner with GENX-1B64 engines worth $230.4 million.
In early 2012 the airline received five A-320-200 aircrafts worth $258.6 million within the program.
At present, the airline's fleet has 27 planes of western production, including 9 Boeing (4 767-300 and five 757-200), thirteen airbus (three A-310 and ten A-320-200), three medium-RJ-85 and two cargo airbus A300-600F.
The airline operates six aircrafts. It was reported that modern Russian equipment, new avionics of the U.S Rockwell Collins, Canadian aircraft engines Pratt & Whitney, propellers Hamilton Sundstrand (U.S) and Additional Power Unit Honeywell (U.S) have been installed at all aircraft IL-114-100.
"Uzbekistan Airways" is the monopoly carrier in Uzbekistan. It is wholly owned by the state. Uzbek airline makes flights to 21 countries in Europe, the U.S, Middle East, Asia, 22 cities of CIS countries and 11 areas of local airlines.
In 2011, the airline increased passengers transportation by 7.2 percent compared to 2010 - up to 2.322 million passengers, cargo traffic amounted to 48,200 tons.
