The annual deflation rate has been fixed in Georgia. It was 2.1 percent in April 2012, the Georgian Statistics agency said today.
The main cause of deflation is to reduce food prices by 8.1 percent.
The prices on meat and meat products increased by 0.8 percent and prices in the transport sector by 13.1 percent.
The monthly deflation rate was fixed in April 2012. Deflation was 0.03 percent compared to March.
