Flight from Istanbul to major Azerbaijani city to be launched next summer

New flight from Istanbul to major Azerbaijani city Lankaran by Turkish airlines is likely to be launched next summer, the company's President and CEO Temel Kotil told Trend on Thursday.

According to Kotil, the company is currently negotiating with Lankaran Airport on some technical issues concerning the new flight.

The Istanbul-Lankaran-Istanbul flights will be carried out four times a week initially and then increased to daily frequency, he said.

Moreover, the company is negotiating with Azerbaijani side to increase the frequency of existing routes.

Currently Turkish Airline company's Istanbul-Baku-Istanbul flights are realized only from Ataturk Airport in Istanbul. Flights from Sabiha Gokcen airport are implemented by Azerbaijan Airlines.

Currently Turkish Airline's aircrafts fly to such Azerbaijan's cities as Baku, Nakhchivan and Ganja.
