Italy’s IMER Group will introduce innovative technologies for the production of reinforced concrete products in the Akhangarancement cluster of building materials in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek company said.
The corresponding agreement was concluded in Akhangara between Akhangarancement, which is part of the Eurocement Group Holding, and Nihol Impex, a subsidiary of IMER Group in Uzbekistan.
The launch of the production of high-quality concrete and reinforced concrete products for housing and infrastructure construction is scheduled for 2019.
The new production of concrete and concrete products is part of a large project of the Eurocement Group to create a cluster of building materials at the Akhangarancement site, with a total investment of $200 million.
The production line of refractory brick for the cement and metallurgical industries has already been launched, and on Oct. 17, on the eve of the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan, a stone was laid in the foundation of a new plant with a capacity of 3 million tons of cement per year. The cluster will become a platform for the production of mineral wool products and other building materials for both the domestic market of Uzbekistan and for export.
In 1H2018, Uzbekistan reduced the production of Portland cement. For six months, the enterprises of the cement industry produced 3,953,800 tons of cement. For the same period in 2017, the production of Portland cement in the country amounted to 4,198,700 tons.
