Foreign companies keen on participating in construction of toll roads in Uzbekistan

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 3. Sojitz (a Japanese company) and Ronesans (a Turkish company) plan on participating in promising projects on the construction of toll roads in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.

This issue was discussed at a meeting between Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Transport Jasurbek Choriev, General Manager of the European branch of Sojitz Yasuhide Machida, and Chairman of the Board of Ronesans Cem Ozoguz, according to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Transport.

They discussed the matter of cooperation in the implementation of public-private partnership (PPP) projects in the transport sector.

Uzbekistan presented information on projects planned to be implemented in the country on the basis of PPP in the spheres of transport and road economy.

Meanwhile, representatives of CITIC Construction Company (China) expressed interest in building new toll roads in Uzbekistan.

The company expressed interest in participating in the reconstruction of the Pungan-Namangan and Tashkent-Chinaz highways. They emphasized their international experience in improving transport infrastructure and utilizing modern road construction solutions.
