Iranian customs official has indicated the US withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action has caused difficulties in work of Iran's customs.
“The Joint Comprehensive Plan (JCPOA) is a multilateral nuclear deal that got affected by sanctions, naturally by US leaving the deal, Iran has faced problems in money transaction with countries that have close relations with the US," Hossein Kakkhi, Director General of Customs International Cooperation Department told Trend.
"Although, Iran's relations with other countries are the same, the US withdrawal would affect specific cases including those countries which have close relations with America", he said.
Referring to the Iranian customs border which was affected by the US sanctions, he said that, it’s still early to judge.
"According to statistics from the time of the US withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan no significant changes have happened, but the customs procedure requires more time and better assessment over this issue," Kakkhi said.
“The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance has a comprehensive plan to confront the US sanctions,” he said.
“The Minister has formed a committee to review the effects of sanctions on Iran foreign trade. Currently Iran has special plans on international customs relations that depends on the European Union and the regional countries, therefore the US provocations had no specific effects on previous plans and it had not affected any of Iran's routines," he said referring to effects of sanctions on customs procedures.
