A total of $854 million worth of goods were exported from Iran's free trade over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), the Deputy Head of Iran's High Council on free trade and special economic zones Ahmad Jamali told IRNA, Trend reports.

In addition, more than $13 billion worth of goods were exported from Iran's special economic zones, Jamali noted.

The deputy added that the spread of coronavirus pandemic had also a negative impact on trade turnover through free trade and special economic zones last Iranian year and thus, trade fell by 10 percent.

“Last Iranian year, Iran's trade turnover through free trade and special economic zones amounted to $10.1 billion in positive balance,” he said.

Iran's total foreign trade turnover amounted to about 146 million tons worth $73 billion in the last Iranian year. During this period, Iran exported 112 million tons of goods worth about $35 billion and imported 33.4 million tons worth $38.4 billion.
