Georgia has great potential for hazelnut production and is distinguished by high quality hazelnuts, said President of the Swiss chocolate company Camille Bloch, Daniel Bloch, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
Bloch made the remark during the meeting with Environment and Agriculture Minister of Georgia Levan Davitashvili.
At the meeting, representatives of Camille Bloch presented a project for innovative production of hazelnuts in Georgia.
Bloch emphasized that Georgia has great potential for production of hazelnuts and is distinguished by the high quality of hazelnuts. The company representatives expressed readiness to cooperate with the Georgian side in terms of exchange of experience in using modern and innovative methods of hazelnut production.
As Davitashvili noted, Georgia holds the leading position among the largest hazelnut-producing countries.
“Hazelnuts are one of the most important export goods of Georgia. It is important for us to further increase the production of hazelnuts in the country, as well as its quality," Davitashvili said.
