The value of Iran's trade turnover with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states increased by 96 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of the International Cooperation Department of the Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Hossein Kakhaki said, Trend reports citing IRICA.
Kakhaki noted that the value of trade turnover between Iran and the EAEU member states amounted to $1.96 billion over the reporting period.
“So, Iran exported $421 million worth of goods to EAEU member states in five months, which is an increase of 37 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he added.
According to him, Iran exported $223 million worth of goods to Russia, $63.6 million worth to Kazakhstan, $26.9 million worth to Kyrgyzstan, $7.73 million worth to Belarus and $99.6 million worth to other member states.
The director general also said that Iran imported a total of $1.53 billion worth of goods from EAEU member states during the reporting period. So, Iran imported $1.32 billion worth of goods from Russia, $195 million worth from Kazakhstan, $9.61 million worth from Belarus, $269,000 worth from Kyrgyzstan and $3.54 million worth from other member countries within the 5 months.
