Kazakhstan reports jump in cargo transport volumes

A total of 289.3 million tons of cargo was transported in Kazakhstan by all means of transport in January 2022, which is 2.5 percent more than in January 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Thus, the majority of the cargo was transported in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region. The volume of cargo transported in the region amounted to 55.06 million tons in January 2022, which is 2.6 percent more than during the same period last year, respectively.

Karaganda region is followed by the East Kazakhstan region with 50.3 million tons transported in January 2022 (up by 1 percent compared to January 2021).

Almaty city takes third place country-wide by the cargo transported in January 2022 (22.6 million tons, down by 0.7 percent).

The least cargo volume was transported in the North Kazakhstan region. The transported cargo volume stood at 3.7 million tons of cargo in January 2022, which is 1.9 percent more than in January 2021.
