The United Arab Emirates company MASDAR will participate in a joint project to reduce gas leaks in gas-distribution centers in the Fergana Valley.
The agreement was reached during the Uzbek delegation's visit to Abu Dhabi, Uzbekneftgaz said.
"An agreement was signed to complete the necessary procedures to design major documents and hold the next meeting in Tashkent," the company said.
MASDAR conducted preliminary monitoring of gas leaks under the project in the second quarter of 2008.
The company said the project is being implemented as a part of the Pure Development Mechanism (PDM) program. The PDM portfolio includes 75 project requests. Fifty-five have been approved by the inter- ministerial PDM council.
The feasibility study of 6 oil-and-gas projects is nearing completion. The projects aim to reduce gas leaks at compressor stations and medium-pressure distribution centers and use casing-head gas in oil fields.
