About 571,422 meters were drilled in Kazakhstan in January-April 2011 compared to about 462,502 meters during the same period of last year, the Central Dispatching Department of the Kazakh Statistics Agency told Trend.
The total volume of drilling operations was fulfilled by 98.2 percent in April 2011. About 178,711 meters were drilled compared to 142,781 meters drilled in April 2010. It was planned to drill 181,917 meters.
The volume of exploratory drilling was fulfilled by 134,5 percent in April 2011. About 31,759 meters were drilled. It was planned to drill 23,604 meters.
