Azerbaijan's proven hydrocarbon reserves are estimated at 4.5 billion tons of oil equivalent, SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev said during a meeting with students receiving education abroad, scholarships and accepted to work in the scholarship program.
He noted that the forecasted hydrocarbon reserves in Azerbaijan are estimated at ten billion tons of standard fuel, the most of the oil and gas reserves in Azerbaijan focuses on the fields Shah Deniz and Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli.
It is planned to start the construction work within the framework of the second stage of the development of the condensate field Shah Deniz in the Azerbaijani sector of Caspian Sea next year, Abdullayev said.
He added that all the construction work in the frame of creation the necessary infrastructure will be implemented in Azerbaijan.
