By Maksim Tsurkov - Trend:

Bahar Energy Limited, which is engaged in development of Azerbaijan's oil and gas block Bahar-Gum Deniz in the Caspian Sea, will complete repair of two platforms before the summer end, a source in the oil and gas market of Azerbaijan told Trend on June 4.

During the first quarter of 2018, Bahar Energy continued implementation of the project for reactivation of production at the southern wing of the Gum Deniz field through the repair of platforms 409 and 412, the source said.

"It was revealed that the deeper wells on the southern wing require larger lifting systems than those previously available. The new larger lifting facilities are expected to be ready for operation in June 2018 on platform 409 and in August 2018 on platform 412," the source said.

A contract for exploration, rehabilitation, development and production at Bahar and Gum Deniz was signed by Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR (20 percent) and Bahar Energy (80 percent) in 2009. Bahar field, developed since 1969, is located in 40 kilometers southeast of Baku.

The 100 percent shares of the operating company Bahar Energy Limited belongs to the US Greenfields Petroleum.
