Iran expects signing of new long-term contracts in petrochemical sphere

Iran expects signing of new long-term contracts in the petrochemical sphere, said chief executive officer of Iran's Petrochemical Commercial Company Mehdi Sharifi-Niknafs.

He made the remarks during the 12th Int'l Exhibition of Iran Plast, SHANA news agency reported citing Iran’s National Petrochemical Company.

“The petrochemical industry plays an important role in Iran’s economy in terms of exports and creating new jobs. It can give impetus to the development of other spheres as well. Therefore, it is necessary to pay more attention to the development of petrochemical industry in the country,” said Mehdi Sharifi-Niknafs.

He pointed out that Iran expects closer cooperation between the companies of petrochemical industry, which will be possible by signing of long-term contracts.

‎“Both buyers and sellers get benefits from long-term contracts. Therefore, we expect signing of such contracts between local and foreign companies at this exhibition,” he added.

IRANPLAST is one of the largest and most important exhibitions in Iran, in the fields of raw materials, machinery and moulds, auxiliaries and services for plastics and rubber industries, as well as, one of the most magnificent ones in the Middle East region and Asia. Historically, IRANPLAST has had a growing trend from the very first edition in 2002. Since then, more than 5000 companies from Iran and other countries have participated at such a great exhibition event. The first 5 editions of IRANPLAST were organized annually but from the 6th session, it became a biennale exhibition, in order to enhance its quality, structure and organization.
