Georgia and Ukraine agreed to promote the development of green energy and energy efficiency, Trend with reference to the Georgian media.
"Energy security is one of the key areas of further cooperation between Ukraine and Georgia", Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said at a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili.
As Shmyhal noted, an agreement was reached that the parties will contribute to the development of green energy and energy efficiency.
"During the negotiations, I expressed my interest in more active development of investment cooperation. We talked about ways to attract investment in the modernization of transport infrastructure, as well as in the development of joint ventures and the privatization of state property. It was very interesting for both countries to implement public-private partnership projects, in particular in the aviation and road sectors in the maritime sector," he said.
According to him, the parties agreed to promote the development of so-called green energy and energy efficiency.
"This will be facilitated by the Memorandum of Understanding between our specialized agencies. This document will form the basis for the development of joint approaches aimed at developing renewable energy markets. We are ready to consider cooperation in this and other important areas, including within the framework of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and GUAM, where we have similar positions and approaches to the further activities of these organizations," Shmyhal said.
