BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 31. Construction of new cable transmission lines along the bottom of the Black Sea will allow Azerbaijan to export the produced "green" electricity to Europe, the country's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said, Trend reports.

Shahbazov made the remark during his meeting with Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs of Germany Jörg Kukies at the 8th Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue international conference.

According to him, it’s planned to realize the wind energy potential of the Caspian Sea by 2036, which is estimated at 7.2 GW.

Along with "green" electricity, it will be possible to consider the issue of exporting hydrogen to Europe, the minister noted.

Besides, he stressed that Azerbaijan, which has been a supplier of oil for many years, became an exporter of gas to European countries through the Southern Gas Corridor, which is one of the largest projects of the 21st century.

The parties noted that the expansion of this corridor requires the solution of a number of necessary issues on the basis of multilateral cooperation.
