BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15. Azerbaijan's 77 percent of Internet users have accounts on social networks, said manager, research analyst, consultant, and independent expert Riina Vuorikarisaid at the GSMA M360 Eurasia 2024 conference in Baku, Trend reports.
She stated that this information is derived from the Azerbaijan Digital Skills Assessment 2023–2024.
"This study was carried out by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transportation of Azerbaijan, the International Telecommunication Union's (ITU) CIS Regional Office, and the ICT Data Statistics Division of Azerbaijan. The survey involved nearly 35,000 individuals selected through randomized sampling across 13 regions of Azerbaijan," she explained.
According to the research, 88 percent of Azerbaijani internet users use online calling, 77 percent use social media, 18 percent consult and vote online, and 45 percent use email, SMS, and messaging apps.
To note, the GSMA M360 Eurasia 2024 international conference is taking place in Baku, spanning from May 15 through May 16. This event gathers leading experts, regulators, heads of mobile operators, IT corporations, high-ranking politicians, and other participants. This is the second time the M360 Eurasia conference is being held in Baku.
