BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15. Iran's aluminum production in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 20, 2024) amounted to 56,083 tons, the statement of Iran's Mines and Mines Development and Modernization Organization (IMIDRO) said, Trend reports.
In the first month, Southern Aluminum Company produced 23,418 tons, Iran Aluminum Company produced 15,617 tons, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company produced 13,933 tons, and Iran Alumina Company produced 3,115 tons of aluminum ingots.
Iran Alumina Company produced 18,583 tons of alumina powder (alumina) in the first month.
Besides, Iran Aluminum Company produced 54,633 tons of bauxite (raw material for alumina powder) and 31,502 tons of aluminum hydroxide.
Meanwhile, Iran's annual aluminum ingot production potential is about 700,000 tons.
To note, in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024), four aluminum companies in Iran produced a total of 635,597 tons of aluminum ingots. However, in the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), the four companies produced 632,166 tons of aluminum ingots.
