BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15. The first oil refinery of Iran's Hengam Petrochemical Company is planned to be put into operation soon, Executive Director of Iran's Hengam Petrochemical Company Gholamreza Jamshidi said, Trend reports.
According to him, the plant will produce 2,200 tons of ammonia per day after its official commissioning.
Jamshidi noted that the first processing plant is currently producing ammonia in a pilot mode. So far, the ammonia produced at the plant has been exported to Türkiye, EU countries, and India by 14 ships.
The official added that another of the company's plants is producing urea. Test works is already underway at this plant. The plant's annual capacity is 1.15 million tons.
"Once the company's plants (ammonia and urea plants) are fully operational, revenue of $300–500 million a year will be generated," he noted.
To note, Hengam Petrochemical Company operates under Iran's Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company.
