BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 19. Iran's West Oil and Gas Production Company (WOGPC) has resumed the activity of well No. 27 of the Dehloran oil field, Executive Director of the company Ali Rezaee said, Trend reports citing the WOGPC’s website.
“At present, 3,000 barrels of crude oil are extracted daily from the mentioned well,” Rezaee said.
According to him, the West Oil and Gas Production Company has resumed the activity of well No. 27 of the Dehloran oil field within the plans of the Iranian Oil Ministry to resume the activity of inactive oil and gas wells, as well as increase the production of low-yielding wells.
The director noted that the activity of well No. 27 of the Dehloran oil field was suspended due to the failure of the well's downhole safety valve.
“With the purchase of the needed spare parts, the safety valve was repaired by the company's employees, and installed after conducting inspections in the well,” he added.
The downhole safety valves are equipment used to keep the oil wells under control. These valves are used to control the oil pressure when there is any problem with the oil pipes in the well.
the Dehloran oil field (this field is called Abu Ghraib in Iraq) is located 180 km south of Kermanshah city and 22 km southwest of Dehloran county. The Dehloran field was discovered in 1972. The field contains 4.21 billion barrels of crude oil, of which 635 million barrels can be extracted.
Iran's West Oil and Gas Production Company are one of three subsidiaries of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). The company has been operating since 1999 and covers the Kermanshah, Ilam and Lorestan provinces of Iran. The company can produce 165,000 barrels of crude oil and 7 million cubic meters of gas per day.
Over the next 10 years, the company plans to increase crude oil production by 440,000 barrels and gas production by 15 million cubic meters per day.
