BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. Azerbaijan’s proven resources of natural gas will last for more than 100 years, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria Huseyn Huseynov said, Trend reports.
He was among the speakers during Green Week 2023 about the green transition in Central and Eastern Europe, organized by dir.bg and 3E news with the media partnership of BTA.
In the Ambassador's words, Bulgaria is a reliable partner for natural gas supplies for Central and Eastern Europe.
Azerbaijan will increase the natural gas supplies for Europe, he added. To make that happen, however, technical measures and improvements should be undertaken and funding should be available.
In addition to natural gas and oil, Azerbaijan’s government has actively began looking into the opportunities for green energy production, the Ambassador noted. A memorandum with the United Arab Emirates has been signed to that end. Also, leading companies have committed to produce 25 GW of solar and wind energy. Azerbaijan intends to export 4 GW of green energy to the European market along an underwater cable, which will pass along the bottom of the Black Sea, he specified.
