ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 14. The Turkmenistan's Turkmengaz State Concern plans to expand its activities at the Galkynysh field by building new wells, Trend reports.
The state concern is now looking for a contractor to provide services for the building of 14 production wells at the Galkynysh field as part of a new stage of development.
The state agency will accept written submissions from interested organizations until mid-January of this year, after which the contract will be finalized.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is actively diversifying its energy sector, with a particular emphasis on growing the gas business. This effort is noteworthy in light of the country's huge natural gas reserves, and it includes ambitious plans covering the extraction, transportation, and export of this critical energy resource.
According to the Turkmengaz State Concern, the country's hydrocarbon resources are estimated at more than 71 billion tons of oil equivalent. This volume includes more than 20 billion tons of oil and more than 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
